Nicole A. Bell
Prenatal Lead Doula and Program Administrator

Nicole A. Bell is the founder and Executive Director of CoCo Love. Her work is rooted in maternal health equity, Black birth advocacy, postpartum restoration, family wellness, and generational healing. Through CoCo Love Doulas and CoCo Love Collective, Nicole is building a full-spectrum village that supports families from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond.

She serves as the Prenatal Lead Doula and Program Director. Nicole has led CoCo Love’s growth since 2024 and possesses extensive experience serving Black birthing families across Contra Costa County. She oversees service delivery, quality assurance, workforce development, supervision, and the organization’s pillars of care.

Her leadership centers culturally responsive care, community-based solutions, faith, emotional wellness, family stabilization, and wealth-building pathways for Black and Brown families.

Alexandria Ford, MSW
Postpartum Lead Doula and Community Outreach & Partnership Coordinator

Provides supervision, postpartum program oversight, care coordination support, workforce mentorship, and direct service delivery. She integrates Medical Social Worker-informed approaches to strengthen family stabilization and benefits navigation.

Behind every CoCo Love Doulas family is a village of doulas, mothers, advocates, leaders, and community partners who contribute to maternal and family wellness. Together, they bring practical experience, community knowledge, and collaborative support to help families navigate pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and early parenthood.

CoCo Love’s team includes professionals and community partners who contribute to different aspects of maternal and family wellness. Roles within our organization may include:

Postpartum Lead

The Postpartum Lead helps guide our pillars of care that support mothers and families during the recovery period after childbirth. This role focuses on postpartum education, wellness support, and connecting families with resources that encourage a smoother transition into parenthood.

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator assists with coordinating CoCo Love’s pillars of care, community initiatives, and family support services. This role helps connect participants with the appropriate pillars of care and provides operational support throughout their involvement with CoCo Love.

Administrative Support

Administrative Support helps manage communication, documentation, scheduling, and daily program operations. This role serves as a point of contact for families, partners, and community members seeking information about available services and pillars of care.

Doula Team

Our doulas provide continuous, non-medical support throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period while working alongside families and their healthcare providers. In addition to offering education and advocacy, they help families understand their options, prepare for birth, and access community resources that support their parenting journey.

Training & Academy Support

Training & Academy Support coordinates educational opportunities, mentorship, and workforce development for aspiring doulas and community birth workers. This role helps prepare participants with practical knowledge and professional skills for community-based maternal and family wellness services.

Mental Health, Lactation & Community Partners

CoCo Love collaborates with mental health professionals, lactation specialists, and community organizations to help families access services beyond the scope of doula care. These partnerships expand available support by providing referrals, specialized education, and connections to trusted community resources when additional assistance is beneficial.

Board & Advisory Network

CoCo Love’s leadership is supported by a growing Board and Advisory Network that provides guidance for organizational planning, service development, and community partnerships. Their collective experience helps strengthen maternal and family wellness initiatives while supporting sustainable services for families and the broader community.
